QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Funding Questions

Does AAG provide post-secondary funding?

The AAG is a non profit organization, our funding comes as operational dollars.  We have put some dollars aside for Training initiatives for members of the community.  We do not have a large enough budget to fund post-secondary funding or living allowances, but we can try to help guide you to possible funding sources as well.

We do have an annual Golf Tournament and other fundraisers that we put toward our Atoske Education Fund.  These are small grants that can be applied for as last resort funding options.

How do you apply for the Atoske Education Fund?

The primary purpose of the Atoske Education Fund is to provide funding to help people overcome barriers to training and employment that are not usually covered by other funding sources and are required for employment or a training program.

If you would like to learn more, please click on the “AAG Education Fund” application link.

Employment Questions

Where can I find job postings?

AAG is committed to getting the most up-to-date job postings and updating our office job board weekly. We will post a couple featured job postings on our website, but please come to our Atoske Career Counselling Centre for a complete listing.

You are also welcome to give us a call or send us an email on the types of jobs you are interested in, and we can forward you the ads that may be of interest to you.

Does the AAG provide assistance with resumes and cover letters?

We would love to provide assistance with resumes and cover letters.  Please visit us during our work hours, appointments are not necessary, we are here to help you.

Can employers looking for skilled people to hire, contact the AAG?

Yes, we maintain a database of clients who have registered their skillset with the AAG and have given us permission to pass along their information to potential employers.  We would like to encourage all organizations, employers, skilled individuals, and individuals looking to hire local contractors to come register with us so that we can expand our database so that we can continue to help local community members find employment.

Training Questions

How does the AAG inform the public about upcoming training opportunities?

We communicate any information we need to get out to the public through our website, Atoske Action Group Facebook page, email, and posters throughout the community.  Please stop by our office, we may have a training opportunity that will interest you.

We also would gladly accept any ideas you may have on potential training and workshop ideas.
