ACCC Summer Student Admin Support

This position is a full time, temporary position, the Job Term will be from May 9, 2016 through to August 26, 2016. This position is designed for a current Post-Secondary Student, who will be returning back to school in the Fall 2016.

Successful Candidate will be responsible for providing guidance services to Atoske Career Counselling Centre visitors as well as provide office support, and administration services to the ACCC Administrator and AAG Project Coordinator. The Career & Administrative Assistant will report to the AAG Project Coordinator. This position will require between 35 hours of work per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide career counselling and guidance services to Atoske Career Counselling Centre (ACCC) visitors to encourage education and career placements including, but not limited to:

  1. Relationship development with visitors of the ACCC

  2. Follow up with ACCC visitors

  3. Maintain helpful relationships with visitors

  4. Keep track of reporting and common uses of the ACCC

  5. File Management

  6. Referral of information to other agencies throughout the community

  7. Receiving & distributing information

  8. Updating the job board and all other materials within the ACCC

  • Provide administrative support services such as:

  1. Preparation of reports, correspondence, emails & minute-taking

  2. Answer telephones

  3. Providing information gathering & research assistance

  4. Help with meetings & travel arrangements

  • Assist in maintaining central databases for the following usage:

  1. For measuring success of the workforce project

  2. Communication

ESSENTIAL Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Student

  • Related experience and demonstrated office skills

  • Enthusiastic, outgoing and welcoming personality

  • Ability to work closely with a small office team

  • Positive and motivational to others

  • Self-motivated

  • Innovative thinker

  • Knowledge and understanding of the community as a whole

  • Understanding of, and commitment to, the importance of education

  • Ability to work with others

  • Ability to take accurate meeting notes and minutes

  • Computer software skills (Microsoft Word, excel, Power Point, Email, Explorer, Search)

  • Excellent written, verbal, comprehension, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrate positive customer service

  • Ability to speak or understand Cree may be an asset
